High Impact Polystyrene
HIPS is a great point of sale and packaging material because of its light weight, rigidity, impact strength and of course its high gloss surface. HIPS can be vacuum formed, it is printer friendly and is low cost. HIPS comes in black and white.
Applications
HIPS has similar applications to acrylic and is mainly used in the point of sale industry because of its high gloss finish and availability in a range of colours. Because of its cheap cost, HIPS is typically used in applications of low strength requirements, so for temporary displays and promotions HIPS provides a beautiful but cost effective solution.
Colours shown above are just representations of a particular colour and aren’t necessarily the finished plastic colour. Lighting conditions, monitor calibration and variances in the plastic colour processing can impact the colour of a given material. For more information on colour availability please contact us.
